ATA-DC Centennial Turkish Republic Day Ball
On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the American Turkish Association of Washington, DC (ATA-DC) hosted a Centennial Turkish Republic Day Ball at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Washington, DC, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Türkiye.
The event was a resounding success, with over 300 guests in attendance. Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour, followed by dinner, dancing, and live music. The evening also featured a special presentation honoring the legacy of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Republic’s founding father.

A tango dance performance
A traditional “Ankara Türküsü” folk dance, where all guests stood up and danced together
